The first early Turkey Valencia’s from South Africa have not yet reached the market but are expected to arrive in the coming days. Market sentiment remains optimistic, with expectations for a positive response. While Egyptian Valencia’s are still present, concerns over substandard quality may limit their competitiveness, and market preference will shift to South African Turkey Valencia’s.
The lemon market remains strong. As weekly shipment volumes from South Africa to the Middle East increase, it is hoped that this additional supply will not place too much pressure on price levels.
The mandarin market is experiencing pressure, with concerns that both demand and pricing will continue to decrease. This is largely due to the rising volumes and diverse range of South African mandarin varieties entering the market.
