Update on the market in the GCC countries.
The market is starting to pick up on Nadorcott Mandarins from South Africa and showing more positive market trends, with less supply available from South Africa. This is the same trend for South African Lemons, however, new season Lemons from Egypt and Turkey have started to make arrival in the market.

In the Northern areas, growers are at the end of the season with the packing of Witkrans and Cambria Navelate varieties.
The Valencia estimate might be reduced even further. The season is expected to end in week 38/39 (Mid-end September) with smaller growers finishing in week 35/36 (beginning September).
Mandarins up North is expected to end in week 37/38 (Mid- September), and volumes from the Western Cape will be limited and expected to finish in week 38.
From the Eastern Cape, there is about 3 weeks left of packing fo the season. This is the last packing week for Cambria and Autumn Gold Navelate varieties, and Midknight Valencias will finish next week.
Lemons are also at the tail-end of the season as the last packing will be in week 36/37 (mid-September).

The market started to pick up over the last few days on Nadorcott Mandarins from South Africa, showing positive market trends, and remains positive for Lemons due to limited supply available. However, Lemons from Egypt and Turkey are also available in the market now, and South Africa will compete with these countries.

Limited volumes being packed each week on CA stored Forelle/Vermont Beauty Pears and the aim is to try and extend the season for as long as possible, until the end of October.
Market update
Positive market trends for South African Pears with increased sales and high price levels with limited supply available. The market is also supplied with Pears from Spain and Chile in the market. The Forelle and Vermont Beauty Pears from Chile will compete with the same varieties from South Africa at high price levels, as the market preference is for South African pears.

The India Apple season is delayed and this is keeping the price of imported Apples high. Pear prices are increasing as volumes arriving decrease each week.

The market is performing well on imported South African Valencia Oranges. Growers up North in South Africa, have about 4 more weeks left of Valencia packing. Buying prices are high, due to volumes that are down compared to last year and high local juice prices. All markets worldwide are competing for the same fruit.
