There is about 3 weeks left for Valencia oranges from South Africa. South Africa is finished with Late Mandarins.
In General
Uruguay and Argentina are finished with Late Mandarins for the season and Peru is at the tail-end of the season with only some volume on Malvaceos and Honey Murcott available. Continuous rain in Uruguay has delayed packing of Valencias and affected volumes.

Although price levels have decreased slightly for Oranges and Soft Citrus, there is still a high demand for both commodities in the GCC countries. There is a decrease of 11% on Valencia volumes shipped from South Africa to the Middle East, compared to the same period last season.

Strong demand and high price levels on the Polish local market for apples, and this is impacting the price for export at higher price levels.
Market update
Decrease in price levels and demand for Royal Gala apples in the GCC countries, as Italy, France and Serbia have made arrival in the market, and they anticipate an increase in volumes from next week onwards. Poland has just started harvesting and is expected to make arrival in the market from the first week in October. Slight decrease in price levels for South African pears, compared to last week and this can be due to the higher volumes of Spanish pears in the market.

India / Bangladesh

India
Easypeelers high demand
Australia have a preferential import duty tariff for citrus to India. However, the practical implication of this is not in place/not working. This gave SA Easypeelers a good opportunity in India to grow this year. It may not be the same next season if the implication of the Australian protocol is sorted out. Unfortunately SA has less volumes of late Mandarin from the Western Cape due to the climatic conditions this season and the season ended a couple of weeks early as well.

Bangladesh
South African citrus nearing the end
South African Mandarin growers have finished packing for the season. But Valencia growers will still pack for 1-2 weeks. It seems that Late Valencia is peaking on count 72/88.
