Apple volumes are still moving nicely. Pears are moving slowly and are selling below costs. India is seeing a spike in Covid cases again and masks have become compulsory again. This could also affect the sales of fruit. The customs payment systems has changed and there are now teething problems and it is causing back logs in clearing containers.

The apple market is empty and those that have fruit are making good margins. The empty market is due to the port problems in SA. The market will stay good until the end of Ramadan and then the market is expected to slow down until about end of May due to local fruits in the market.
