In General
Overall, the market remained relatively stable throughout the week, with no significant oversupply of any particular commodity, particularly in Saudi Arabia. This was largely due to continued congestion at Jeddah Port, where containers have been taking longer than usual to clear. However, there were signs of improvement this week, with a noticeable increase in the number of containers being processed and released.
While overall market supply remains limited, apples have been the strongest-performing commodity this week due to lower availability. However, despite the tighter supply, prices have not reached the levels initially expected because of the high costs throughout the supply chain. Most other commodities have experienced weaker demand as they continue to compete with lower-priced local stone fruit, watermelon, and melons, which remain the preferred choice in the market.
