This has helped to alleviate the congestion at the port and cold stores. The Western Cape growers will start picking Valencia varieties around week 36.

The continued increase in demand and price levels in the GCC countries for Forelle/Vermont pears from South Africa due to the limited supply. Limited volume is available for that have been stored for shipments until the end of September.
New-season for Spanish pears has started to make an arrival in the GCC countries.

India / Bangladesh
India
Apples from Turkey are already en route to India and this is causing prices of current imported apple prices to drop. Packhams still selling at losses. Vermont pears doing well. The citrus market is currently stable.
Bangladesh
Bangladesh has seen some very satisfactory improvements in both sales tempo and price levels on the market.
South African Goldens are in demand as always, oranges are showing good returns and even soft citrus is showing good signs of recovery, however, the oversupply of “weaker” varieties continues to cause headaches.
