Update on the last packing of Valencias in South Africa
The last packing out of the Northern areas should be at the end of this week, while the Western Cape will continue packing for the next 2 weeks (until week 42).
Update on the market in the GCC countries
Although price levels are currently stable for South African valencias in the GCC countries, the market is concerned about the higher volume that will be sent to the Middle East over the next few weeks as the focus has shifted from Europe, the USA and China for the late valencias to the Middle East.

Grape, Stone & Kiwi Fruit
Stone fruit/Grapes
Update on Stone fruit from South Africa
Only a few producers have started packing limited volumes of Stone fruit for air freight and this is predominantly going to the UK and some to Europe. Currently, growers are only packing nectarine for export/airfreight and some peaches have been packed for the local market. Due to current weather conditions, the fruit sizing is small (size 25 and smaller) with a limited size 20…. but hopefully, this will improve in the coming weeks. All producers should start packing from week 42. In general, with the first Stone fruit being packed current sizing is smaller and the season is a little later.
There will be a larger stone fruit and Grape crop this season and with the shipping delays and equipment issues out of South Africa, there are concerns about the logistics for grapes and stone fruit this season. The fruit needs to be packed and shipped soonest due to the shorter shelf life of these commodities.
In general
Peru has a large grape crop this season.
The Peruvian table grape industry is forecast to export a record volume of fruit in the upcoming season with the first estimate indicating above 60 million cartons for the first time.

Mandarin prices have fallen significantly due to larger volumes of cat3-4 fruit available.
Valencia pricing has dropped somewhat due to concerns of some importers around the increasing volumes en route, this comes after record high prices over the past few weeks due to little to no availability caused by logistical challenges.
The South African citrus season draws to a close with only the Western Cape still packing in the final weeks.
