Some South African mango growers have started packing for the local market. However, export packing will only start next week. Mango sizing seem to be around a count 9/10 and total export volumes are expected to be down due to hail in some areas in and around Hoedspruit.
Recent shipping delays, vessels bypassing and strong winds are hindering our stone fruit export schedule.

Grape, Stone & Kiwi Fruit
Update on Stone fruit and a market update in the GCC countries
Plums from South Africa are currently small in sizing because of the cold and wet weather conditions. This has also resulted in the plums not meeting the brix level requirement and therefore limited intakes currently. Apricots are also small in size and slow to come in due to the rain and more rain is expected over the next 2 days. Nectarines have watermarks after the rain and sizing is smaller.
Update on Grapes
The packing of the first grapes from the Orange River region in South Africa started last week, but more volumes will start coming in beginning-to-mid-December. This includes varieties such as Prime and Early Sweet and small volumes of Flame and Arra29. The red seedless varieties will be available for harvest from week 49 onwards.
