Citrus

Prices for Egyptian lemons remain high and are currently selling at the same levels as new-season South African lemons.

The market remains under pressure due to high arrival volumes of Egyptian oranges. Hopefully, Ramadan will help to clear these volumes on a weekly basis.

South Africa

Early South African production regions are packing larger volumes from this week, which should gradually increase market availability.

Pome

The South African season is now underway, with packing in progress on Royal Gala and other red apple varieties. Summer pears are at the tail end of the season, with approximately one week of packing remaining.

The overall market remained stable in the week leading up to Ramadan, with apples performing well. However, the pear market is beginning to experience pressure as increased volumes arrive, resulting in lower price levels.

Grape, Stone, Kiwi & Mango

Grapes

White, red, and black seedless varieties from South Africa are widely available. Seeded grapes are performing well, supported by tighter supply. Good quality grapes continue to move at favorable price levels. Additional supply from Peru, India, Lebanon, and Namibia is also present in the market.

Stone Fruit

Market performance for apricots and plums remains stable, primarily driven by limited supply. Nectarines continue to face pressure due to large volumes currently available in the market, resulting in softer demand.

Kiwi Fruit

Green kiwifruit is available from both Iran and Italy in the market, with Italian origin selling at higher price levels. In addition, gold kiwifruit varieties are also available from Italy and Greece.

Mangoes

Prices continue to increase due to lower volumes available in the market.
