Citrus 

Egyptian and South African lemons are the highlight in the market and are still selling at strong price levels.

There is still a large volume of Egyptian Navels on the market, and prices have dropped in an effort to move the excess stock. The high supply of Navels is keeping Egyptian Valencia prices flat and in line with last week’s levels.

South Africa

Early South African production regions are now packing increased volumes, which is expected to gradually improve availability in the market over the coming weeks.

Packing of the first new-season Forelle and winter pear varieties has now commenced in South Africa.

There has been a decline in prices for South African summer pears due to the availability of all summer pear varieties in the market.

The market for European apples remains stable, supported by balanced supply levels and the absence of oversupply. South African apples have not yet arrived in the market; however, first arrivals are expected in the coming weeks.

Grape, Stone, Kiwi & Mango

Grapes           

White, red, and black seedless varieties from South Africa continue to be widely available. Seeded grapes are maintaining strong performance, supported by comparatively tighter supply. Good quality grapes are trading at favorable price levels.

Stone Fruit

Market performance for apricots and plums remains stable, supported by continued limited supply. Nectarines are still experiencing pressure due to large volumes available in the market, keeping demand relatively low.

Kiwi Fruit

Green kiwifruit is available from both Iran and Italy in the market, with Italian origin selling at higher price levels. In addition, gold kiwifruit varieties are also available from Italy and Greece.

Mangoes

At present, only the Keitt and Kent varieties are available on the market. Prices are significantly higher than their Tommy Atkins counterpart, which have now finished for the season.

Apple volumes enroute

All Southern hemisphere origins have started to ship apples to India and more volumes than 2025. High price Polish apples are struggling to move through the chain and will still be in the market when the high price Southern hemisphere apples arrive. Local India apple that are in CA are also been sold in the North and North east of the country.

Bangladesh

Slow Market

All fruit prices are decreasing and sales have slowed. Importers expect the market to decline further over the next few days.

In addition, large volumes of fruit arriving from China and India are putting additional pressure on the market.
