In General
There has been no significant change in market trends from last week, with the market remaining under pressure across most commodities and demand generally slow. However, demand for Valencia and Navelate/Cambria oranges remains good, supported by limited availability. The local summer fruit season is now almost over, with only limited availability of grapes from Egypt. The new-season grapes from Italy have also started.
Market conditions continue to be unpredictable due to ongoing logistical challenges, including port clearance delays, vessel delays, and high supply chain costs.

The higher level of supply, combined with subdued demand, continued to keep the market under pressure. Buyers remained cautious, with purchasing power remaining limited. Lemons remains under pressure with Turkey also entering the market.
Oranges
Egyptian Valencia oranges remained available, while South African Navel volumes continued to increase. Rising South African availability maintained strong competition in the market. South African Valencia oranges are also available and continue to sell at average price levels.

Pome

The first European apples from Italy and France entered the market at high price levels; however, prices declined during the week to more market-related levels.
The pear market remains good and is expected to continue improving due to limited supply. South African pear availability remains restricted, with volumes shipped to the Middle East 54% lower compared to the same period last season.
There are currently no Chinese pears available in the market due to the long transit time, which is also expected to have an impact on the availability of Chinese grapes entering the market.
